I hadn’t planned on coming across a bag of fake money at all! A suspicious looking guy offered to “sell” it to me and I thought, why not give it a try? Little did I know it was all counterfeit.
I was really puzzled. It all looked so real; the colors, the texture of the bills, even the numbers were all different! I kept wondering why anyone would even bother making fake money, and why they’d just give it away so easily.
My friends and I decided to test the money out to see if anyone would take it. We thought it would make for an interesting experiment. Well, it turned out that no one wanted it! We’d describe this bag of fake money as being something straight out of a movie…Talk about a buzzkill.
We kept trying to get rid of this bag of fake money, but people were way too suspicious- a lesson learned. It didn’t help that one person almost called the cops on us!
Although it was a huge hassle to get rid of, I now knew something I could use in the future. This bag of counterfeit money taught me that selling and accepting money has to be done with caution and thorough processes…something many of us need to be reminded of.
I asked myself, why would someone want to create fake money and how would one even go about doing that? It really goes to show how far people will go to make some extra money, even if it is illegal. It probably requires a lot of skill and patience to make counterfeit money.
In most cases, I think that people who create and/or sell fake money are only looking to make a quick buck. I know some people who have even tried to sell it in different countries where they think that people don’t check money that closely.
I always tell my friends out there to stay on the honest side of money making and to never risk losing their hard-earned money in the process. You never know, one of the bags could be fake!
After that experience, I had a newfound respect for the people in charge of keeping the economy running smoothly and the people that actually check currency for counterfeiting. They definitely have a really important job.
So, even though I had my own experience with fake money, it didn’t stop me from being more aware and cautious when it comes to dealing with money in the future. Money is just too precious to take for granted.
