Oh man, I can’t believe I almost bought one of those fake Louis Vuitton carry bags! I went on a weekend getaway with my girlfriend not too long ago and this store had these beautiful L.V. carry bags. Bradleys to be specific. I had to catch myself because usually fake designer bags looks terrible. But oh my, these bags were so convincing. Unfortunately, I figured out they were fake because it just didn’t feel the same.
So I was like nah, there is no way this is real. I started feeling around the bag and the straps felt too light. That and the price was just too good to be true. I asked the cashier and yea, he admitted that it was a knock off. I should’ve known better, you know?
My girlfriend ended up getting the bag for herself. Not because she didn’t know it was fake. But just because she craved a nice weekend bag. I mean, they looked so real, ya know? She believed she got a great deal and she did, but not as great as it seemed.
We looked up the real price online and it was way more expensive than we thought. She was still happy, though. They make great presents, fake designer bags. It’s a way to get something that looks real and more expensive than it actually is. The receiver feels like you bought them something special, at least that’s what she told me.
In the end, it just was not my thing. I know it’s a great idea for some people, but I’m afraid I don’t go for knock offs. It just bothers me so much when I can’t tell the difference. Plus, the Logan bag that I wanted was so expensive that paying for a fake one just didn’t make sense to me.
On the other hand, they make really nice accessories for those that just want something that looks good and not so much a status symbol. For instance, my little sister loves L.V. so much that she would take any knockoff as if it were the real deal. Even if somebody gave her the real one, she wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
That’s when I found out that there’s an actual market for fake Louis Vuitton carry bags. You can get designer inspired ones with really nice quality and they are not so noticeable. I mean, of course they are not the same as the real thing but, if you don’t care about that, they make great statement pieces.
What gets me the most is that some of them are so convincing that you really need to inspect closely to spot the differences. The zippers, the lining, the stitching... You gotta carefully check all the details and if you are not so knowledgeable about the real ones, it can be quite hard to tell.
For me, it all comes down to the originality. I would much rather get a cheaper but original bag than a “designer inspired” one. They don’t even look the same. It’s like comparing an apple to an orange. Some people don’t care about that but, for me, it really matters.
Although, I do understand why so many people buy these fake Louis Vuitton carry bags. I mean, who wouldn’t want the famous design for a fraction of the cost? Plus, not everybody is willing to waste so much money on a bag, ya know? And at least this way it looks really nice and not so obviously knockoff.
The thing is, if you compare it side by side with the real one, you really see the difference. The fabric quality, the print, the texture. Everything changes. Not to mention how the real one looks after some years and the knockoffs don’t even hold up that long.
That’s why I prefer fashion items that are not so fancy. I don’t want to feel like I’m wasting my money. I would rather buy something cheaper but original. There are so many good options and frankly, I don’t feel the need to show off with some fake designer bag. It’s the way you style an item that really matters.
