The other day I was scrolling through my boredom and landed upon one of my favorite online shopping sites – cheating the shoppers out of their hard-earned money with nothing in return. They were selling New York Fake Luxury Bags HI, as if they were the real deal. Well, at first sight, everybody believed that they were the real deal. I mean, the pictures looked so real! But once I got near them, I knew I had been had.
The craftsmanship of these bags was absolutely abysmal. The faux leather was absolutely paper-thin, the zippers were all rusty, and the fabric was too thin to stand up to a gentle tug. I was so angry at myself for getting sucked into the scam. All of those disclaimers I scrolled over, I should have paid more attention.
But then when I turned to the reviews, I couldn’t help but laugh. It seems that I was far from the only person that was scammed out of their money. 95% of the reviews were 1 stars, some people even ran into issues within the warranty period. These people actually had the audacity to put such a vague disclaimer on a $200 bag that looked so real.
Nevertheless, I decided to take a look at the other ‘luxury’ items on the site. They were offering up Louis Vuitton at $50 and Gucci at $30. Again, the pictures looked so real, anyone could have got sucked in easily. But when I got to the reviews, I was disappointed yet again.
The stitching was wonky and off, the fabric was flimsy and weak, and the zippers were made out of cheap plastic. Earrings were made of cheap iron and bracelets were too light to be even real. Nothing on the site was worth a cent, and I was starting to think that it was all a scam.
I asked around and it seems that this online shopping site was a huge scam. Apparently, the company has scammed hundreds of people, and all the profits had been made through sheer deception. How could this happen? It seems that the internet has no bounds and anyone can do whatever they want.
I’m so glad that I was able to finally put this experience behind me. While it was certainly a stupid and naive mistake on my part, I’m happy to report that I was one of the lucky ones – the site completely refunded me without a single dollar in losses. Now that I know what I do, I’ll certainly be more careful next time.
