My friend and I were discussing whether factory coach bags were fake or not. She had heard from a few people that they weren’t real and it had made me curious.
I had always admired Coach bags. They looked so chic and polished and I loved the array of colors and designs available. But if they were fake, would it be worth investing in them?
I decided to dig deeper into the topic. As I researched online I realised that it was very hard to distinguish between fake and real factory coach bags.
The styles and colours were so alike it was hard to spot any differences. However, there were certain signs you could look out for. The hardware is usually a giveaway: if the Coach label on it is low quality, then that could indicate that the bag is not an authorised Coach product.
I also learnt that the quality of the material was key. And if you’re buying factory coach bags from an online store, it’s worth taking note of the reputation of the seller. For example, if the store has many negative reviews then it’s a good sign to look elsewhere.
Another important factor to consider for distinguishing between fake and real factory coach bags is the price. If it seems too affordable, chances are it’s a fake. Although it’s worth mentioning that authentic factory coach bags are usually higher in cost than regular Coach bags.
Talking with my friend, we both agreed that it was best just to purchase from authorised and trustworthy online stores to ensure you receive a genuine item. Additionally, you should always double check the Coach Care card, just to make sure you know you have an authentic item in hand.
To really be certain, it’s worth accessing the online Coach serial number database. This will verify if the Coach bag is real or fake. It’s a quick and easy way to determine if you’ve been conned.
And when I mentioned the tag should have the “R” and “O” logo I knew my friend was in the know. All I could do was nod my head in agreement.
Going beyond purchasing a genuine item, you can also register it online for extra protection. This is very helpful if the bag is lost or stolen as it will make it easier to identify.
Then, if you are particular about your bag, there are lots of products that can help maintain the leather. I always carry a small brush and some bee’s wax for emergency touch-ups.
And of course, it wouldn’t hurt to keep an eye out for discounts, as there are some great deals to be had. Many second-hand stores have a great selection and it’s worth looking at online too.
Sometimes I find myself wishing that Coach would release a line of more affordable bags. I guess they’d have to if we all start turning to buying factory coach bags! Don’t you agree?
