I’m sure the market for these fake bags will continue to grow, considering the economic situation right now. We’re all looking for ways to save money but buying counterfeit bags isn’t one of them. Who knows what poor materials are inside and how long they’ll last. In the end, it’s still cheaper to get the real thing if one has the means to do so. It’s just not worth risking your money and your money’s worth by buying one of these knock-offs.
However, it’s hard not to feel sympathetic for these people in Vietnam. While we can’t support their actions, it’s easy to see why they do it. Most are making more money doing this than working a regular job in that country. That’s why I think it’s important to not demonize them, but rather find ways to better the conditions of the workers there.

But thankfully, there are also people in the industry dedicated to uncovering these frauds.
Also, the originality in designer bags can be determined by researching the design history of each item. This will help you determine the time period it was produced in and the type of hardware that was used to make it. A designer bag that has a vintage feel to it should not have a modern style of hardware.
Another way of authenticating designer bags is to compare the styles of labels used by the company. Although the labels can be redesigned from time to time, do not forget to double-check if it fits into the correct size and shape of the original company.
Lastly, try to contact the company to ensure authenticity of the bag. A lot of companies have customer support lines, so why not call them and ask about the bag you are purchasing? In fact, some companies even have “authentication” or “appraisal” services where you can send them pictures and measurements of the item in question and they will be able to tell if it is real or not.
But what if you have already bought a fake bag and you don’t know how to recognize the original from the copy? Simple: return it or donate it to someone in need, as long as you don’t deceive them by saying it’s real! We should all strive to buy authentic products, not only for ourselves but also to help the companies that work hard to create real beauty.
