It happened last Saturday night when I was just walking around the mall with my friends. We were looking for something to buy but it didn’t take long before we noticed that the mall was full of fake designer bags. We were seeing the same bag in multiple stalls and I was baffled as to how it was possible for this to be happening in this mall.
My friends kept teasing me that I had obviously come to the wrong place. But I was determined to find something real and not some fake designer bags. I mean, if these stalls were selling fake designer bags, then it wouldn’t really be a luxury that I was buying.
I finally stumbled across an authentic designer bag and I was over the moon. It was the perfect bag for me and I was so excited. I had never seen this bag before – not in real life. It was original and that made it all the more special. My friends were completely envious of me and of course, I gloated!
But guess what happened next? We started asking questions to the vendor to make sure that the bag was real. We asked to see the invoice and he obliged but it was in a language I couldn’t quite understand. He then proceeded to tell us that all his designer bags were from Jakarta. That was when I really realized how common this problem is – designer bags from Jakarta are being peddled in our malls, as if it’s no big deal.
It’s honestly so hard to find the real designer bags and it’s hard to spot the fakes. All the stores in the mall had these bags and it just seems like Jakarta is the answer when it comes to designer bags. I guess there’s a huge business here.
But I’m so glad I found an original designer bag in the end. I’m always looking out for these little details and luckily, I was able to spot the real deal. I mean, I’d hate to have to go through the trouble of buying something from Jakarta when I can get the real deal at my local mall.
I think the most important takeaway from last Saturday night is for people to be more aware of what they’re buying. Fake designer bags are not going away anytime soon and people are learning new ways of getting rid of their inventory and replenishing it. It’s just too easy to find these fakes in the mall and until that stops, people need to be more mindful of where their designer bags are coming from.
It’s so sad and disheartening to learn that our malls are being flooded with fake designer bags from Jakarta. I just want people to support the original designers and their work. We should be appreciating art and fashion, not buying cheap knockoffs. It’s even more discouraging to know that this kind of thing is happening in my neighborhood, in my city.
It’s really tough to stay positive in this situation, but I’m just hoping that people will start to pay attention before it’s too late. We need to realize that we can’t just let this slide and go on buying fake designer bags, even if they come from Jakarta. It’s wrong and unfair to the original designers and their work.
I guess all we can do is try to spread awareness and try to educate people on this issue. We should be encouraging people to support the real designers and not knockoffs from Jakarta. It’s just not worth it in the end.
What do you think about fake designer bags from Jakarta?
