It was the worst purchase I’ve ever made! A Chanel 31 Rue Cambon bag fake. I’m not sure what I was thinking, but I really wanted it because it looked so nice.
And I was promised a real Chanel bag. I don’t even know how long I had been waiting for it that day because I was so excited to finally have it. I was so thrilled.
But when I received it, I was heartbroken. It was so fake, from the texture to the logo, it couldn’t have been more obvious! I mean, I could tell right away, it was just terrible.
The sad part was, I had already paid for it. After all the money wasted, all I had in my possession was a “fake” bag and a broken heart. I just wanted to throw it away, but it felt like throwing away my dreams, so I refused to do that.
I was so inconsolable. I couldn’t even look at it. I had asked for an opinion from friends and family but my mind was made up. I was done with Chanel. I didn’t want to see them ever again.
But then, something happened. I was browsing through Youtube and stumbled upon a Chanel video. I don’t know why, but I watched it. It was a video about the journey of creating a Chanel bag. For the first time, I saw how skilled the craftsmen were and how much effort was put into making a real Chanel bag.
I suddenly felt like the fake Chanel bag was not meant to represent all Chanel bags. Sure, it was fake, but the real ones would definitely not be like that. After this, I regained my faith in Chanel and decided to give it one last try.
And this time, I wasn’t disappointed (thank goodness!). This Chanel bag was more beautiful than anything I had ever seen. It was the real deal – from the texture to the logo, I was completely blown away!
I looked after this bag with great care and still do today and it’s been three years since I bought it. This experience gave me a deeper appreciation for excellent craftsmanship. It made me realize that if something looks too good to be true, it probably is.
So I was glad that I kept trying because the real bag did not let me down. It was worth every penny and a testament of how a beautiful thing can come out of a mistake.
I now make sure that I check every detail before I purchase a Chanel bag. I even did some research on how to tell a real Chanel bag from a fake one and it serves me well. I also make sure to examine others around me when they purchase items to make sure that they aren’t getting scammed.
What’s amazing is that even after all this, the fake Chanel bag I had initially purchased continues to remind me of an important lesson: be sure to investigate before buying anything, especially designer items. Don’t be fooled by those fake items!
