Once upon a time I heard something that has always stayed very close to my heart – “fake bags look the same, but only the real things make you shine.”
That quote has reminded me of how we should carry our life with much more confidence and embracing our own beautiful attitudes.
Fake bags, fake jewellery, and fake friends may seem good for now, but ultimately it doesn’t matter. What matters is that we appreciate and acknowledge the real stuff that we have in and around us.
From expensive branded bags to ornaments and jewelries – it might make us feel we belong to society, but true joy in life comes from developing a strong connection with people that understands us – doesn’t matter how rich or poor the person is. Otherwise, it won’t stay with us and wouldn’t make us feel fulfilled and happy.
When we start seeking validation from materialistic objects and artificial people, little do we realise that it’s all a ‘fake’ and it will not bring us anywhere. So why not seek validation from ourselves and appreciate our own existence?
Why not express gratitude and contentment towards what we have now and express our intrinsic desires in a subtle way. We should appreciate the beauty of everything around us, from nature to our friends and family. That’s the ultimate realisation we all should learn.
When we begin to rely on the emotional support of fake people and fake things, we start ignoring real things that can bring a real joy to our life. Fake bags will not bring our hearts with happiness – even if they look exactly the same. Yes, the real things shine the most out of everything else in the world.
A real thing will always be our own and it’s from here that our journey starts. During our journey, we’ll be surrounded by people and things that brings us joy and a deep sense of satisfaction – these are the real and important things we should cherish for life.
The next thing I’ve learnt is that “fake bags don’t last for long”. It’s Luxury real things that will stay with us longer and make us feel secure. No matter how many fake bags one might own, it cannot replace real happiness and contentment. We cannot hide behind it for our entire lives. Instead, it’s us who have to step up and face the reality – and that’s when we’ll realise what real happiness and success really is.
Also, with a real thing, the looks don’t necessarily define its true value. We shouldn’t be judgemental about the bag. We should accept whatever it is – expensive or not. Real things are real things and they give us a certain contentment that’s far more meaningful and gratifying than anything else.
And lastly, we have to accept the fact that fake bags are deceptive and might give us a false sense of security. Fake bags might give us a sense of belonging with the high-end society but in reality, only the real things can sustain our real ambitions.
At the end of the day, it’s the real beauty that matters – not just the facade of luxury and riches. We have to learn to appreciate the goodness of all that life has to offer us and strive to reach out to the real things that make us shine. That’s what *real* life is all about!
