fake designer changing bags

It was a nightmare. Just last week I bought what I thought was a real designer changing bag and now it just dawns on me that it may have been a fake. How could I have been so naive? But here’s the thing – when you walk into a shop and you spot these amazing looking bags that don’t have a designer label, it’s very easy to get taken in.

I suppose I should have known better. What was worse was that it was really expensive and I just had to pick it up, the colour was to die for, the textures were amazing – and you can guess the rest. I should have asked the sales assistant about it. She had a sneaky glint in her eye and she was being so pushy. I should have read the signs.

But I just stood there, with my wallet open, waiting to part with my hard earned money. And before I had the time to rub the sleep from my eyes or check the material, it was all said and done, the bag was purchased and somehow my trust had been broken.

The tag said it was designer, the brand said it was OK, but the story explain the truth – it was nothing but a fake. Now I’m sitting here, with my cheeks burning red with anger at myself for not checking. It’s totally not my style.

Now, as I rummage through my wallet in search of a refund – something I highly doubt – I just keep rewind and play this same conversation in my head and wish I had done things differently. How will I ever learn?

Despite all this though, I’m still looking on the bright side. I’m better equipped know to spot a fake designer changing bag, so my mistake has not been in vain. I’m glad I’ve had this experience, so I never fall for the trickery again.

Since my ‘epic fail’ I’ve been doing a bit of research. It turns out, that a lot of fake designer bags have poor stitching, the material isn’t up to scratch and – here’s what got me – the logo wasn’t quite right. So I guess the lesson learnt from this is to always look close and pay attention to the finer details.

It also made me realise that paying just a little bit more for the real thing is worth it in the long run – you know you’re never going to be left feeling disappointed. There’s a certain peace of mind you get from knowing you have the real deal.

Gosh, how easily we can be taken it. Everywhere we turn we’re being pulled left right and centre with ‘amazing’ offers that sound too good to be true. What better way to guarantee you’re buying something worth the money than by doing a quick bit of research? Fake designer bags don’t offer the same quality, they’re made with cheaper materials and as a result, don’t last very long.

It’s not just me, it seems that designer fakes are everywhere. Everywhere we go, in every store – there’s always that doubt. Who knows if it’s real or if it’s a fake? It’s almost as if the fake industry has almost become an e-commerce godfather.

So, no matter what the shop assistant or the tag may say, it pays to be wise. Buying the real deal ensures quality – in both the material and in the long-term. You can never be too sure. If it looks too good to be true, it most likely is.

So, next time I’m shopping around for a designer changing bag, I’m going to be so much more careful. I’m making sure I’m doing all the necessary checks to guarantee that I’m getting my money’s worth. I’m determined not to let myself be taken in ever again.
