I mean, obviously I knew it wasn’t the real deal. But still, I had no idea it was gonna look this awesome. I held it up to the light and its stitching was so detailed I was legitimately shocked. I’m sure its not as resilient as a genuine Jack Wills bag, but hey, it gets the job done.
It’s even got me thinking about how good it looks next to my best friend’s real designer purse, except hers was gazillions of dollars compared to what I paid for mine. And now, I’m giving her major bag envy – whoopsies!
It’s these kinds of replicas that have me wondering why people go to the trouble of investing in overpriced designer items, when we could be benefitting from what I call ‘fake luxury’. I mean, look at Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada... they all have replicas that look just as good as – if not better – than the expensive originals.
Who says designer labels come with a hefty price tag? Not me! Sure, the quality may not be the same, but why pay a tonne more money for something that looks the same and performs the same? In my opinion, designer dupe items are the perfect way to flaunt your style without breaking the bank.
In fairness, I can see why people shell out a lot of money for a designer bag. But, if you can get your hands-on a knock-off that’s just as spot-on as the original, why compromise?
Now I’m an advocate for saving money where you can. That’s why I decided to go with the faux “Jack Wills” bag. It was a no-brainer, honestly. Not only did I save loads but I saved with style!
To be honest, whenever I carry this around, I get comments from people who’d usually be asking the kind of price tag for an authentic one. But when I let them in on my little secret, they’d be astonished.
For me, style isn’t about climbing the designer ladder and shelling out cash to prove it. Its about having confidence in the way you look, no matter what it is and no matter where it’s from.
I think the fundamental truth about style and fashion is that, what you pay doesn’t always reflect the quality or how good you look. I learned this firsthand with my faux “Jack Wills” bag.
I mean, for a fraction of the price, I feel like I got a good bang for my buck. Because of this, I’m the first to recommend picking up bag replica rather than investing in the real deal. It’s a straight up win-win!
What’s even better is that with the money I saved, I’ve now got enough to purchase more bags and be able to switch them up for any occasion. Plus, I’m sure I can find quality items at lower prices, which is an added bonus.
You wouldn’t believe the amount of people who are dodgy about designer dupes. I mean teach me the definition of ‘getting value for your money.’ I always tell them that the ‘brand’ matters less than how the item looks. It’s all good vibes when people start to appreciate my ‘fake jack wills bag’ and secretly ask where I got it from.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still on the hunt for an original Jack Wills bag which I’d love to add to my collection. But until then, I’m good with my secondary version. I get the same amount of compliments if not more – it’s a sign that up-to-the-minute style doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg.
I’m still pretty stoked that I’ve had such a good shopping experience with my fake jack wills bag. I mean, it still looks premium-grade to even the most discerning fashion detectives, and it still serves its purpose just as well.
Plus, I know where to find more pieces like it, so I can experiment with different styles and vibes without breaking the bank. I figure it’s all about knowing which places to look and to be cool with fake lux, you know?
In my opinion, it’s about time we started distinguishing between what’s real luxury and what’s fake. And with my little bag project, I think I’ve achieved just that. Here’s to being able to be comfortable in my skin and in my bag too!
