First off, I gathered the materials – this included some fabric of my choice, cotton thread, scissors, needles, pins and a small zipper. With the materials in hand, I was ready to get started.
The sewing process was not as difficult as I imagined. To my surprise, I found it quite easy to follow the instructions and the pattern. Using the pins, I marked out all the pieces of my purse on the fabric, and then cut them out.
I was really excited to give my bag a unique design, so I opted for a variety of brightly colored fabrics – I was like a kid in a candy store! From there, I proceeded to sew the pieces of fabric together, creating the shape of the bag. This was the hardest part of the process; it took me a few attempts until I was happy with it.
After the bag was finished, I added the zipper. This was tricky but, with patience, I managed to pull it off. I chose a fun multi-colored zipper to give my bag an extra special touch.
I was so proud when my purse was finally complete. The bright colors and unique design made my purse look like it had come right out of a vintage store. I could hardly wait to fill it up with my coins and carry it around – it was an accomplishment I could really be proud of.
