I’ve heard so much about the fake air bags deaths in 2016, and it absolutely breaks my heart. The sad reality that lives were taken for no reason is something that will stay with me for life – no human should ever be subjected to such an unnecessary tragedy.

It’s crazy to think that people lost their lives to something they perceived to be a reliable safety device. I cannot fathom how anyone can be so careless and dishonest to attempt to pass off a counterfeit product as something “legit”. To think somebody out there was willing to put the lives of every driver at risk to make a quick buck – it’s just wrong.

The deaths were preventable, had the counterfeiters been more honest and truthful. And it’s more than likely that the victims had no idea the airbags were fake – they probably assumed they were genuine and safe.

These victims are, sadly, probably just one link in the chain – it’s possible that consumers are still driving around with cars containing these fake airbags, totally unaware of the danger they’re in. It’s also possible that the counterfeiters are still in business, continuing their lies and deceit.

It’s utterly ridiculous that people are still willing to put innocent lives in danger for the sake of a few extra dollars. Fake airbags are the ultimate sign of carelessness – it’s your responsibility to be vigilant about what you’re buying and installing in your car.

I’m so glad that something positive has come out of this tragedy – those who lost their lives as a result of fake airbag-related accidents have sparked an increase in awareness and safety campaigns, ensuring that the future won’t be a replay of the past. With more awareness and better regulations, these fake airbag-related deaths won’t happen again.

We need to be aware of what’s going on around us – careless actions like these can have drastic consequences that could easily be avoided. I couldn’t imagine the pain and suffering of those affected, and it breaks my heart to even think about it. Fake airbags really are a reminder that safety is always a priority.

It makes me so angry to think that so many lives were lost due to something as simple as fake airbags. It’s illegal foreignt or local companies to manufacture counterfeit airbags – yet it’s still happening, even now in 2016. It’s so unjust – these companies have no right to put innocent people in danger in the pursuit of a fast buck.

These counterfeit airbags are literally a ticking time bomb, and they just can’t be trusted. The only safe way to be sure your airbags won’t fail you is to purchase them through a trusted, reputable source. And, most importantly, if anyone ever offers you a deal that seems too good to be true – like a greatly discounted airbag – steer clear, because even a few hundred dollars saved isn’t worth risking your life.

And if you find yourself in the unfortunate position of owning a car with a fake airbag – replace it as quickly as possible. It’s expensive, and it’s a hassle, but it’s much better than being in the middle of an accident and having the airbag explode without helping you.

There are so many people who don’t even know they are at risk due to these fake airbags, and that’s really worrying. We need to be absolutely sure that those responsible for manufacturing or selling these counterfeit airbags are brought to justice – if they are allowed to get away with it, they’ll only keep doing it, and who knows how many more innocent lives will be sacrificed.
