My shoulder bag obsession had taken me to shop at Stussy store a few weeks back. Its signature shoulder bags scream modern-day style and timeless design. But what I wasn’t aware of at the time was that a lot of the bags sold there were fake. It is quite common to find fake ‘designer’ bags at designer stores, and Stussy is no exception.
At first, I couldn’t believe my luck when I bought a nice, Stussy leather shoulder bag for a good deal. I was quite excited about it, and was pointing out the bag to my friends and everywhere I went.
However, my enthusiasm began to gradually diminish when it started to fall apart within a week of its purchase. It seemed too good to be true, and it was. The leather was coming apart, it seemed to be made out of some cheap, fake material.
I was so mad when I realized, that I wanted to take it back and get my money back. I had been scammed. But on my way to the store, I just about remembered that they won’t take any responsibility for fake goods they sold me in the first place.
So, I resorted to a refund/replacement kind of online deal with them. Thankfully, they actually offered a real, genuine Stussy bag based on my reviews, although I had to wait for a couple of weeks.
When it arrived, I could not believe how authentic it looked. The material felt premium and really firm. The details on the bag were precise, and had a perfect stitch. It was an amazing bag indeed.
I carried it around for months and it never ceased to amaze me with its classic design and effective functionality. It was one the best pieces of Stussy had to offer.
The bag also inspired me to take better and smarter decisions while shopping online. I sure learnt my lesson this time. I’d do my research more thoroughly to avoid the pitfalls of counterfeit items.
Whenever I shop for anything, I make sure to cross-check all the details beforehand – like what materials they use, what kind of guarantee do they offer, what are the reviews of their service and products and the like.
In my experience, it’s best to read up before you invest your hard-earned money into anything. So, Yes. Quality and originality matters!
Now I only shop from genuine stores such as Stussy and avoid buying anything of questionable origin like knock-offs or fakes. Not only does it affect my buying experience, but it also hurts the industry in the long run as customers get tricked into believing that they are getting quality items for less money.
If I had realized sooner, I could’ve ended up with a much better deal than this fake Stussy bag. So, I’d urge people to have that extra bit of patience and research to make sure that they receive the desired quality.
In addition, I now take extra caution when taking review about any store, product, or service. I pay particular attention to not only written reviews but also on testimonials, ratings, and customer photos.
And if I am not happy with what I read or hear, I double check or look for a second opinion before making a purchase. I don’t want to go through the same experience again!
I also make sure to ask reviews from people who’ve recently bought a product, not from people who’ve owned the product for a while and have made a general statement without having any detailed knowledge.
When I find a product that both looks good and has good reviews, I go ahead with my purchase. By doing this, I am more likely to get genuine, branded, and flawless items than a cheap replica or a fake.
I now have a few trusty shopping trips and shows in corporation that have good quality, cost-effective items and genuine customer service. The cherry on the cake is that my shopping experience is now much more stress-free and satisfactory. And I have Stussy to thank for it.
Not only is the genuine Stussy shoulder bag a constant reminder of how I sprang back from a fake purchase but it also serves as a tool of being more vigilant and aware while shopping online.
So, the next time you plan your next shopping spree, I’d recommend researching the product before making the purchase. It’s not only timely, but it can potentially save you a lot of hassle and heartache in the long run!
