Wow, I just got a new vintage Mulberry bag and it is so amazing. I have been wanting one for years and am so excited to finally have it. The bag is brown with a pop of red on the strap and looks so chic. But, is it a fake?
I started to do a little research to help determine if it is real or a knock-off. To start, if the bag doesn’t include an embossed Mulberry label, it is definitely not real. But the one I have checked these and they all look good so it’s a real sigh of relief.
Another thing I noticed was that the leather was super thick and durable, as well as the leather straps. I can really tell this was handmade and had a lot of quality behind it. All in all, it is a great bag that I am sure I will love carrying for years to come.
One of my friends who also collect vintage Mulberry bags told me about the existence of fake ones. She told me that the best way to spot a fake was to make sure all the hardware on the bag is metal—no plastic or otherwise faux hardware allowed. Luckily, every single piece of metal on this bag is original and made with superior craftmanship.
I have also read that the details on a Mulberry bag can make it very difficult to copy for a fake bag. For example, the intricate stitches around the edges of the seams, as well as the writing on the inside of the bag, should all be well done and not resemble a rushing job. After looking over my new bag, I was happy and relieved to note both the edge seams and interior label were flawlessly done with sharp details that confirmed it’s originality.
So, this is why I can confidently say that my Mulberry bag is real without a doubt and definitely not fake. It’s such a great feeling to have something so valuable that it also looks so good.
